A combination of dedication, hard work and unbeatable product lines assisted in developing A1 Fisheries into a formidable retail chain,.This resulted in the company's selection as finalist at the Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism 2007 awards.The company was a nominated and shortlisted for Entrepeneur of the year as well as Large Entreprise.During the awards, owner and founding member Koos de Wet was honoured witht the prestiges Business Personality 2007 award.

Out Procurement policy and practice

At A1 Fisheries, procurement and expansion of product ranges are dictated by our consumers' wants and needs. Our aim is to promote and support local as well as BEE suppliers where possible. The top of range food processing equipment used in the manufacturing process is supplied by a South African company.We invest large amounts of capital in our expansion program, comprising of the development of new branches as well as improvement of existing outlets.

Relevant auditpractices and policies are in place to ensure the reliability of A1 Fisheries' financial data. The company uses a computerised bookkeeping system complying with Internasional Financial Reporting Standards. an Integrated VIP Payroll system compliments the established practises to ensure the compliance with statutory requirements as prescribed by labour legislation and South African Revenue Services.
