Company Overview:

Acts is a specialist HIV clinic operating at a primary health care level. Extensive work has been done to achieve credibility and overcome the stigma of this disease such that at this stage Acts is able to only treat patients who are HIV & VE.

At present in  the community at Legogote a 12 bed in-patient step down unit is in operation.

Because of the expert nature of the staff at the clinic there are training facilities and training in the field of HIV is carried out.

We are currently operating in the Masoyi Area of Northern Nzikazi and is drawing patients from Hazyview, Bushbuckridge, Kanyamazne and Kabokweni.

When we launched AIDS Care Training and Support Initiative in 2000, we could not have imagined how rapidly the work from the clinic would grow and expand. Our vision was to provide a continuum of quality care and support to all those in the Masoyi Tribal Area touched in any way by HIV/AIDS. It is immensely satisfying today to see how that vision is being fulfilled, as the community warmly embraces the clinic and its various arms.

There are still great needs and enormous challenges. But through the dedication of our staff, the enthusiastic involvement of the community, and the generous support of our sponsors, we are seeing a dramatic improvement in the quality of life of those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. From pregnant mothers, rape survivors and people living with AIDS through to those in the final stages of the disease, ACTS initiative is making a very real difference, and is being recognised as a model HIV/AIDS project.
